Glossy Buttons

1. Start with a new image about 400x400 pixels with a chosen background, (I'm using white). Make any kind of wacky shape for your button (for this tutorial I will show you one shape). Start by creating a new layer and using the Rectangular Marquee draw a rectangle roughly the size you want your button. See picture opposite.



2. Click the channels tab and create a new channel. Fill the selection in with white. You can now deselect (CTRL +D). Now go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and use a setting of about 3.5. Click OK. Next go to Image>Adjust>Levels and drag the two bottom triangles towards the center until the button looks nice and smooth (see image). Click OK when done. Hold CTRL and click on the channel "Alpha 1" to select it. Click the Layers Tab.




3. Now fill your selection in with your chosen color (I'm using R:255 G:126 B:0), and Deselect (CTRL+D). Now to make the button more interesting go to Edit>Transform>Perspective. Drag the bottom right point inwards so that your button goes to the same shape as mine (or something similar).



4. Now, To make the highlight, create a new layer. Using the Freeform pen draw a rough wiggle circle around the top of the shape as seen in the picture. Once you have your path, Right click and choose "Make Selection" use default settings. Then Right click again and choose "Turn off path". Now create a new layer and fill the selection in with white.



5. Next Hold CTRL and click on "Layer 1" to select it. Go to Select>Modify>Contract and enter 1. Now go to Select>Inverse. Make sure you have "Layer 2" active and hit delete. Now hold CTRL and click on "Layer 2" to select it then hit DELETE about 4 times to completely get rid of the white. Do Not lose the selection.




6. Now press D then X to reset the colors. Using the Linear Gradient in the options tab change the gradient to "Foreground to transparent" and drag the gradient from the top of the selection to the bottom. You should now get a highlight effect.




7. You have the highlight, now you need the dark shadow. Do the same as before, using the freeform pen draw a wiggly line across the bottom of your button (see picture). Again, right click and choose "Make selection", use default settings, right click, and choose "Turn off path". Now create a new layer -- don't lose that selection.




8. This time fill the selection in with black On a new layer. Hold CTRL and click on "Layer1" to select it. Go to Select>Modify>Contract and enter 1 then go to Select>Inverse and with "layer 3" active in the layers palette hit delete. Now hold CTRL and click on "layer 3" to select it, hit DELETE about 4 times to remove all the black -- do NOT lose the selection



9. Now set black as your foreground color, and using a the linear gradient at foreground to transparent still, drag from the bottom of the selection to the top. Then Deselect (CTRL+D). Now you may want to blur the black shadow a little Filter>Blur>Gaussion Blur, I used a setting of 3.0, then I lowered the layers opacity down to 42. Now you are done with the button add a Drop Shadow to "layer 1" Layer>Effects>Drop shadow.



10. When you add text make it the same color as the button but a lot darker. To make it look insert duplicate the text layer by dragging it to the create a new layer. Drag it below the first text layer and make the duplicate text the color White. Using the move tool move it up a pixel and left a pixel, Set the layer blend mode to "Color Dodge" go to Layer>Type>Render Layer and Filter>Blur>Guassion Blur. I used 1.0. Now turn the bottom text layers opacity down to about 50 and your done.



11. Don't stop there, make some whacky shapes and see the cool effects you get. Just experiment and see what you can make.

Photoshop Lighting, The lighting effect filter

Learning how to use the built-in lighting effects filter is one of the most important skills you'll ever learn for Photoshop. It allows you to add volume and reality to normal 2D objects. Here we go:



1. Start by opening Photoshop and creating a new image. For this example, I chose dimensions of 200x200 pixels. Make a selection. Anything will do, you can use text (like I did) or make a square or ellipse. After you have a selection, fill it with a solid color. (If you used text, it should already be filled).







2. Go to the Layers palette. Rename the layer with your filled object "Base" by right-clicking it and selecting Layer Options. Hold down Ctrl and click on the Base layer to load it as a selection. Switch to the Channels palette and create a new channel by clicking .





3. Hit Alt/Backspace to fill your selection with white. Next go Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and choose a radius of 12 pixels (with a bigger/smaller image you will need a bigger/smaller radius). Then Gaussian Blur it again at half the radius you used before (i.e. 6). Now lets get rid of those jaggies that form on the outside of the selection. Hit Ctrl/Shift/I to invert your selection and hit delete.







4. Go back to the Layers palette and click on Base to select the layer again. Now hold Ctrl and click Base to load your original selection. Then go to Filter>Render>Lighting Effects... If an alert pops up asking you to rendering the layer, click OK. Now the Lighting Effects window will pop up and give you many options that you can play around with. First change the Texture Channel to Alpha 1. Now it's up to you to pick options that suit what effect you want. If you want to add more lights, click the light bulb button. By clicking the image to the left, you can see what options I used.


5. You could stop now if you want, but we can always improve, right. Lets add a drop shadow to make it look a little more realistic. Go to the Layers palette and right-click the Base layer and choose Effects. I used the default drop shadow and blue outer glow with a blur of 10 pixels.







6. For a more plastic-like look hold Ctrl and click on Base in the Layers palette to load the selection. Go to Filter>Artistic>Plastic Wrap... I used the following settings: Highlight 4, Detail 15, Smoothness 10.








7. This last step will allow you to play with the range of colors used in your image. Hit Ctrl/M to bring up the Curves window. Try clicking and dragging the line around to produce a nice effect. You can click the image to the left to see what I did. I also added a gray radial gradient to color in the background on a layer beneath the Base.






Lighting effects are used a lot in web graphics. One example is for making sweet plastic buttons. Something extra you may want to do when using this tutorial for buttons is to apply the Bevel Effects effect (see step 5). I suggest either the Pillow Emboss or Outer Bevel style for buttons.

Membuat warna bibir jadi merah di Photoshop

Kadang kalo kita take a picture, and bibir kita keliatan pucet,kyknya g enk jg diliat yach....NIh khusus yg cewek...Yang cowok mah terserah make nih tipz apa g??? Nih ada sedikit tips dari Q....Selamat mencoba...

1. Pertama silahkan buka salah satu yg pengen diedit, misalnya foto ini yg q edit...Foto sebelah kiri yang q edit....

Sebelum dimake over bibirnya.....

Nah yang nih udah dimake over,,,,,

OK, kita bisa mulai,,,pilih yang namanya pen tool....

2. Kemudian zoom gambar agar mudah diseleksi....pastikan type pen tool tsb adalah paths,perhatikan option yang terdapat di bawah menubar, ini berfungsi agar pen tool tidak langsung menjadi suatu shape...
3. Langsung saja anda klik pad ujung kiri bibir si cewek... letakkan pada ujung bibir yang atas,jangan dilepas dulu, masih menekan pada ujung atas sambil dilengkungkan agar sesuai dengan bentuk bibir, kmudian lepas....

4. Agar tidak terjadi lengkungan yang salah, anda tekan Alt sambil mengklik titik terakhir yaitu di ujung bibir...sehingga salah satu sisi ada yang hilang....

5. Kemudian lanjutkan langkah 3 dan 4 untuk langkah selanjutnya...Jangan lupa tekan alt sambil klik pada titik terakhir dimana Anda meletakkan pen tool,


6. Jika sudah berada di ujung terakhir, Anda klik terakhir pada titik pertama yang sudah Anda klik. sehingga menjadi seperti di bawah ini...




7. Jika sudah seperti di atas, silahkan Anda klik kanan pada area path tersebut, area path berarti garis yang sudah anda buat tadi,,,lalu pilih make selection, ingat Anda masih aktif pada pen tool....Lalu langsung saja klik OK, ini berarti kita sudah membuat selection pertama,,,dan selection kedua Anda bisa menseleksi area bibir dalam...

8. Seleksi kedua : silahkan klik menggunakan pen tool, di area tepat bawahnya titik awal tadi, kemudian tarik dan klik di bibir tengah,


9. kemudian tekan alt dan klik titik kedua tsb, ulangi langkah 8 dan 9 hingga akhirnya paths anda tertutup seperti pahts yang pertama...

10. Jika sudah menutup,,,seperti gambar di atas, silahkan klik kanan, pilih Make selection, di kotak tersebut pastikan pilih option yang ketiga yaitu Subtract from selection, kemudian OK, hal ini berfungsi untuk menggabungkan 2 paths dan area tersebut bisa diganti warna...
11. Kemudian pilih menu Images - Adjusment - Color Balance,


12. Ganti warnanya sesuka hatimu....

13. Langkah terakhir, menghilangkan selection, tekan control D, atau pilih Menu Select - Deselect... Maka hasilnya akan seperti di bawah ini...
